Limoncello Recipe

You too can fulfill your dream and make your own Limoncello. Let me show you how to create a delicious Limoncello.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 L of 190 proof alcohol
  • 1/2 L of de-mineralized water
  • 400 g of sugar
  • 10-15 organically grown lemons (thick skinned Sorrento type)

Wash and dry the lemons thoroughly. Peel the lemons very thin making sure that no white part is included, then slice the rind into thin stripes. Put the rind of the lemons in a jar with the alcohol and let it steep for 3 weeks. After the maceration prepare a syrup with the water and sugar and when cool, mix it with the filtered alcohol letting it rest for another 3 weeks. Filter well, squeezing the lemon stripes to render all their juice. Re-filter and bottle in dark glass bottles. Let the bottle rest for 2 weeks before opening. it is best served cold.
